The A List Portal
The A List Portal is the showroom management tool of The A List, a fashion public relations company. It keeps the record of the fashion samples the company holds for its clients and of where each one goes.
What it does
The company's staff use The A List Portal to run the showroom day to day:
- keep a catalogue of the brands, styles and individual samples the showroom holds;
- check new deliveries in from their packing lists and print a tag for each piece;
- record every send out of samples to a stylist, talent or press contact, and every return;
- follow up on loans that are overdue;
- log where a piece was worn or posted, and make look books and client reports from that record.
Who uses it
The A List's own staff, and the people the company invites. An administrator adds each person before they can use it. It is an internal business tool: there is nothing for the public to sign up for.
How it uses a Google account
Staff are recognised by their Google account. The A List Portal asks Google for a person's name and email address only, to confirm they are someone an administrator has added. It does not read mail, files, calendars or contacts. The privacy policy says what is kept and for how long.
